This expert has been a member of law enforcement and public safety for over 20 years. A candidate for a Ph.D. in Public Safety Leadership, he is a board member with the International Public Safety Association and member of many other associations, such as DC Nightlife Association. He served as a Chief of Police and Security for the Department of Veterans Affairs during this time period. Since 2004, the expert has worked as an independent consultant and investigator. This law enforcement professional spent 21 years with several police forces in Utah. He began his career with the Midvale Police Department, where he worked from 1995 until 2001 and held positions including Patrol Officer, Officer in Charge, Auto Theft Detective, VICE Detective, and SWAT Operator. The expect then joined the South Salt Lake City police force, where he worked as a Narcotics Detective until 2006. He ended his police career in 2016 as a Sergeant for the Washington City Public Safety Department. During his career, he spent several years supervising field training programs. This expert served 32 years with the San Francisco Police Department in a variety of different capacities. He began his experience as a police officer for nine years in patrol, and then went on to serve as a Sergeant and Inspector in the Investigations Bureau for over four years investigating Violent Crimes, Auto Theft, Burglary and Domestic Violence. He went on to serve as a Commander in the Patrol Bureau, Investigations Bureau, and over the Tactical Company and Homeland Security Unites. In his final role with the San Francisco Police Department, he served as Deputy Chief and was responsible for oversight of the 1700 member patrol force. Since retiring from the Police Department in 2013, this expert has been serving as a Lecturer in Criminal Justice Studies at a University in California.

This highly-qualified expert has nearly 40 years of experience in law enforcement and security operations. He is a licensed private investigator and has extensive experience in law enforcement best practices, security guard operations, use of force, premise liability, complex criminal investigations, homicide investigations, and K9 handling. He earned his BA from Claremont McKenna College before beginning his 30-year career with the LAPD.
