This EDR expert is a principal at a vehicular accident reconstruction consultancy. He retired from law enforcement after a twenty-five year career, during which time he investigated over 2500 motor vehicle collisions. Fourteen of those years he served with the Bergen County (NJ) Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit. This expert earned a degree in mechanical engineering, summa cum laude, from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and he is ACTAR accredited. He earned his AS in criminal justice from the County College of Morris, and both his BS in justice studies and his MSM in criminal justice administration from the College of Saint Elizabeth. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is certified as a public manager and as a master use of force instructor and is active in his field as a member of several organizations, including the American Society of Industrial Security and the National Tactical Officers Association. This expert spent 24 years with the Union City New Jersey Police Department, beginning with the department as a patrolman. He then went on to work in the narcotics division as a detective, the narcotics task force supervisor, and eventually the commanding officer of the division while he was a lieutenant. He also served as a patrol tour commander, the police liaison to the Office of the Mayor, the patrol division commander, and the captain. Before his retirement from the police department, he served as the deputy chief of police. Since 2009, this expert has owned and operated his own private investigation company in New Jersey.

This highly-qualified expert has over 16 years of professional experience in multiple assignments in law enforcement, with demonstrated experience in use of force, training, and policies and procedures. He earned his BS in national security studies from New Jersey City University and later earned his JD from Rutgers Law School. He holds several certifications including public manager, use of force analysis, critical infrastructure protection, hostage negotiator, critical incident training instructor, firearms instructor, and advanced law enforcement rapid response training. Formerly, this expert served as a corrections officer and sheriff's officer for the Morris County Sheriff's Office. He also was a sergeant of marines in the United States Marine Corps before becoming a team leader for the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team/Crisis Negotiation Team.
