Law Enforcement Expert Witnesses in Idaho

This expert has worked in the criminal justice field over 40 years, beginning her career in corrections and law enforcement. She is a criminologist, trainer, author, and consultant on crime issues to national and international organizations with expertise in gender and sexual violence. As a consultant with the National Institute of Corrections, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, US Department of Justice, US Attorney General, Pentagon, American University and numerous other groups, she has conducted research at adult and juvenile penitentiaries across the country. She has authored national training curricula on gender and corrections. She received her Bachelors degree in Sociology from Oregon State University ; two master's degrees at University of Oregon; Ph.D.in Sociology (classwork completed at University of Oregon; comps and dissertation through Columbia State University)

This former Salt Lake City police officer was with the force for two periods spanning from 1984 until 2004. He spent time as a Patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, and a Detective, working in Vice, Narcotics, and Financial/Computer crimes, among other departments. He was graduated from Utah POST (Peace Officer Standard and Training) the Utah Drug Academy and completed several courses relating to Law Enforcement. These include; Interviews and Interrogations, Search Warrant writing, applications and affidavits, and Computer Crimes. He served as a Chief of Police and Security for the Department of Veterans Affairs during this time period. Since 2004, the expert has worked as an independent consultant and investigator. He has a B.S. in Sociology and an M.B.A. He is bi-lingual and can read, write and speak Spanish. He was also a primary contributor to the First Congressional Study on Gulf War Illness.

This law enforcement professional spent 21 years with several police forces in Utah. He began his career with the Midvale Police Department, where he worked from 1995 until 2001 and held positions including Patrol Officer, Officer in Charge, Auto Theft Detective, VICE Detective, and SWAT Operator. The expect then joined the South Salt Lake City police force, where he worked as a Narcotics Detective until 2006. He ended his police career in 2016 as a Sergeant for the Washington City Public Safety Department. During his career, he spent several years supervising field training programs. He also supervised animal control and code enforcement. The expert completed numerous officer training, including in Search and Seizure Law.

This highly qualified expert has extensive experience in the field of law enforcement. He earned his ALB in government and environmental science and his ALM in government from Harvard University. He subsequently earned his JD from Gonzaga University. Prior to this, he graduated from the police staff and command school at Northwestern University. This expert actively participates in professional development and holds numerous certifications. Most notably, he is certified in firearm instruction, advanced search and seizure, and pursuit policy instruction. He is active in his field as a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association and has given multiple law enforcement-related lectures. He has formerly served as the executive director of the Nevada State Law Enforcement Officers' Association, sergeant of the Nevada Department of Public Safety, and officer IV of the Elko Police Department. Currently, he serves as the owner of a law enforcement training company in Washington and an adjunct professor for a college in Nevada.
