This expert has over 30-years of experience in law enforcement, primarily with the Drug Enforcement Administration. He has written three criminal justice textbooks. He currently serves as a Criminal Justice consultant and expert witness with extensive experience in litigation support.

He has lectured and published both nationally and internationally in the fields of negligent security, alcohol abuse, community & public relations, campus police protocol, building security, and more. This expert is a retired police officer and owner of a police training and consulting firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Management, a Masters of Science in Psychology and is completing a doctoral degree in Performance Psychology. He is a Certified Criminal Investigator with the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute and a Force Science Certified Analyst with the Force Science Institute He currently teaches the application of Human Factors science to a police officer's use of force (Attention, Perception, Response Time, Decision Making, and Memory). He is also an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice, a Police Academy Instructor, and a Force Options Simulator Instructor at a large regional training center. His policing experience includes positions in; SWAT, Field Training, Gangs, Narcotics, Supervision Media Relations, and Use of Force Training.

This expert served 32 years with the San Francisco Police Department in a variety of different capacities. He began his experience as a police officer for nine years in patrol, and then went on to serve as a Sergeant and Inspector in the Investigations Bureau for over four years investigating Violent Crimes, Auto Theft, Burglary and Domestic Violence. He went on to serve as a Commander in the Patrol Bureau, Investigations Bureau, and over the Tactical Company and Homeland Security Unites. In his final role with the San Francisco Police Department, he served as Deputy Chief and was responsible for oversight of the 1700 member patrol force. Since retiring from the Police Department in 2013, this expert has been serving as a Lecturer in Criminal Justice Studies at a University in California.

This highly qualified expert has extensive experience in the field of law enforcement. He earned his ALB in government and environmental science and his ALM in government from Harvard University. He subsequently earned his JD from Gonzaga University. Prior to this, he graduated from the police staff and command school at Northwestern University. This expert actively participates in professional development and holds numerous certifications. Most notably, he is certified in firearm instruction, advanced search and seizure, and pursuit policy instruction. He is active in his field as a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association and has given multiple law enforcement-related lectures. He has formerly served as the executive director of the Nevada State Law Enforcement Officers' Association, sergeant of the Nevada Department of Public Safety, and officer IV of the Elko Police Department. Currently, he serves as the owner of a law enforcement training company in Washington and an adjunct professor for a college in Nevada.
