This highly qualified expert has over 50 years of experience in law enforcement. He received an A.S. in Law Enforcement from West Valley College, a B.S. in Law Enforcement from Metropolitan State College, and a M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Colorado. Certified as a Police Executive and a Force Science Analyst by the Force Science Institute at the Minnesota State University, he previously served as President for the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police. He served as Police Sergeant for the Los Gatos Police Department and then Chief of Police in Westminster, Colorado. He also served as Interim Chief of Police in Lochbuie, Colorado. He has served as a police practice consultant in various states including California, Georgia, Utah, and New York. He is currently Owner and CEO of a police practices consulting firm.

He has a B.S. in Sociology and an M.B.A. He is bi-lingual and can read, write and speak Spanish. He was also a primary contributor to the First Congressional Study on Gulf War Illness.

This law enforcement professional spent 21 years with several police forces in Utah. He began his career with the Midvale Police Department, where he worked from 1995 until 2001 and held positions including Patrol Officer, Officer in Charge, Auto Theft Detective, VICE Detective, and SWAT Operator. The expect then joined the South Salt Lake City police force, where he worked as a Narcotics Detective until 2006. He ended his police career in 2016 as a Sergeant for the Washington City Public Safety Department. During his career, he spent several years supervising field training programs.
