This highly qualified mechanical engineer earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from City College of New York, his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his PhD from the University of Connecticut. He has been formally trained in a number of engineering disciplines, including accident investigation and labels/warnings/failure to warn instructions. He belongs to a number of highly prestigious societies in the engineering field, including the International Code Committee and the American Society of Safety Engineers. Additionally, he possesses in-depth knowledge to reach the root cause of a wide range of accidents and failures in the following areas: turbines, human performance, operator training, man-machine interface, material science, structures, statics, dynamics, pneumatics, hydraulics, lubrication, fire protection sprinkler systems, elevators, cranes, hoists, escalators, aerial platforms, fork lifts, warning labels and instructions, failure to warn, OSHA standards and requirements, heat transfer and thermodynamics. This highly-qualified expert has had over 30 years of experience in the field of elevator and escalator maintenance, mechanics, and safety. He received his BA in business from Strayer University and is a certified qualified elevator inspector and elevator technician. He is active in his field as a member of the National and International Association of Elevator Consultants and the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities. He formerly served as an elevator mechanic at Atlantic Elevator as well as an elevator and escalator mechanic and maintenance supervisor for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). He also formerly served as a quality assurance officer at WMATA, a service superintendent at ThyssenKrupp and Schindler Elevator Corporation and an elevator manager at the University of Maryland. He is currently a managing member of a vertical transportation consulting firm located in Virginia.
