This expert has been working in the retail automotive industry for over 40 years. He has been a contributing monthly columnist to an automotive dealer publication for nearly 20 years, while he is the co-author and co-presenter of an automotive management course. This expert is the founding director of the Virginia Institute for Performance Engineering and Research and the Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory. He has authored more than 200 technical publications, and has made more than one hundred technical presentations in topics related to advanced technologies for ground vehicles. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at State University of New York at Buffalo.

This engineering expert has over 30 years of experience in the field. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering and his Master of Engineering Science in Ireland before coming to the United States while working for Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, where he designed electronic hardware and system software for air braked truck / trailer ABS and traction control systems. He then worked on ABS and traction control for passenger cars and subsequently started the Electronics Division at Wabash National which he led from 1998 to 2003. This seasoned expert specializes in auto finance and lease regulatory compliance, with over 30 years of experience in the consumer vehicle leasing and financing areas. He regularly consults as an expert witness on auto leasing and finance-related matters, including dealer finance practices, insurance sale practices, and Regulation Z & M issues. In addition, he has consulted for the Federal Reserve Board and National Credit Union Administration on leasing and lending regulatory issues. The expert is the Managing Director of a trade association for major retail automobile lessors, and he also runs a private consulting business. He has been cited in numerous publications and occasionally appears on television as a representative of the industry. The expert earned his B.S. from Yale University and has a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

This qualified expert received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He is a licensed Indiana Professional Engineer. He has been the recipient of 7 patents related to seat belts and safety seats, and has published 5 journal articles related to vehicle safety. Formerly, he was a Turbopump Test Engineer at Rocketdyne, a manufacturing engineer at Rolls Royce; and a R&D engineer, director of CAPE, and director of application engineering at Indiana Mills Manufacturing. Currently he is the principal engineer at a Midwestern automotive consultancy.
