He earned his BA from Dartmouth College and holds several certifications including Accredited Senior Appraiser, Wine Specialist, Sommelier, and the Art of Sabrage. He is very active in his field as a member of several professional societies including the American Society of Appraisers, the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, and the Society of Wine Educators. In addition, this expert has published multiple articles and blog posts as well as having been invited to speak on multiple occasions.
