Dr. Randal Betz, MD

This orthopedic surgeon is nationally recognized with over 30 years of experience in caring for children and adults with problems of the spine, including scoliosis, kyphosis, spondylolisthesis, fused vertebrae, neuromuscular scoliosis, and other spine-related conditions. He earned his BA from Pennsylvania State University and his MD from Temple University School of Medicine, where he also completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedic medicine. He went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in pediatric orthopedics from the Alfred I. duPont Institute. This expert is double board certified in orthopedic surgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation sub-specializing in spinal cord injury medicine. He is very active in his field as a member of several medical societies including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Spinal Injury Association, and was the former president of the Scoliosis Research Society. In addition, he holds 17 patents, has published over 340 peer-reviewed articles, and has been invited numerous times to give presentations. Currently, he is a pediatric scoliosis and spine surgeon at a spine institute in New Jersey. He is also a professor of orthopedics at a medical school in Pennsylvania and is a clinical professor of orthopedics at a top hospital in New York.
