Ms. Cynthia Cunningham

Ms. Cynthia Cunningham has over 20 years of experience in adult day care management and administration. She received her BS in leisure studies and therapeutic recreation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is active in her field as the advocacy committee chair of the Illinois Adult Day Services Association. Following this, she became the adult day care assistant at a nursing home and a director and coordinator for a continuing care center. As an advocate for the aging community, she has coauthored several publications regarding the care of dementia patients. She has also formerly held positions as the director of adult days services at Champaign County Nursing Home and a project coordinator for the University of Illinois College of Nursing. She is currently a consultant for an Illinois aging care management company, for which she has reviewed day care policies and procedures for numerous Illinois elder and adult day cares, and the president of an Illinois adult day services association.
