She went on to earn her MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed an internship in general surgery from Palmetto Health Richland and a residency in emergency medicine at Orlando Health. She is very active in her field as a member and fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Wilderness Medicine Society.
