This highly qualified expert is board certified in internal medicine and hospital medicine and has years of experience as a hospitalist. He completed his MD at Northwestern University. He received his MBA degree in health care from the University of California, Irvine, where he also completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine. He is a master of the American College of Physicians and senior fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine and is a member of various other professional associations, including the Association of Professors of Medicine. He has published 170+ peer-reviewed journal articles and serves in the editorial boards of 15 medical journals. He lectures both nationally and internationally and was listed as a "Top 10 Hospitalist" by the American College of Physicians. He is the vice chair for clinical affairs and quality assurance and the former chief of internal medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Currently, he is the chair of the department of medicine, the executive director of the hospitalist program, the medical director of the anticoagulation services and a professor of clinical medicine, business public health, nursing science and biomedical engineering at a major university.
