This expert has been an ever present force in the rehabilitation community since the beginning of his career in PM&R. He entered a four-year integrated program at the Medical College of Virginia in 1985 and became involved from the early in his career in education and research. After completion of his four-year residency program, he completed a one-year fellowship in brain injury medicine. He remained in academia for several years and was involved with numerous grant projects and clinical program development. Since his training at Medical College of Virginia, he has exemplified what it is to be an educator and has trained many students, fellows and clinicians both hands-on�, as well as in the context of his writing and lecturing about topics involving neurorehabilitative and neuromedical issues in acquired brain injury, post-traumatic pain and neurosexuality. He has been quite prolific with his writing serving as an editor of numerous special issues in multiple journals, authoring or co-authoring well over 180 peer reviewed publications. He serves as a peer reviewer or ad hoc reviewer for close to 20 different publications. Additionally, he has served as co-chief editor of the international, peer reviewed neurorehabilitation journal since 1991 and also as co-chief editor of the official scientific journal of the International Brain Injury Association since 2002. His commitment to education and dissemination is also evident in the many chapters (over 60) and books (8 either as chief editor, coeditor or associate editor) he has been responsible for. He is a member of numerous scientific, honorary and professional societies dealing with his work as a physician focusing on impairment and disability evaluation and treatment, and more specifically, brain injury medicine. These organizations are both scientific and advocacy related. He has held numerous medical directorships over the years and currently serves as the CEO and Medical Director of two successful brain injury related healthcare practices which he started. He has received multiple awards including most notably the first Young Investigator Award given out by the National Head Injury Foundation (now Brain Injury Association of America). He received the Clinical Service Award at the annual Williamsburg conference, the Weinstock award from the Virginia Brain Injury Association and the Shelton Berrol M.D. clinical service award for outstanding contributions to improving clinical services in brain injury from the Brain Injury Association of America. He has regularly been ranked as a top doctor by Best Doctors�. He is also involved with international health care consultation and frequently is asked to serve as a medical expert on brain injury cases. He has also served on innumerable committees over the years starting early in his career as a PM&R resident for organizations such as the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, the National Head Injury Foundation (subsequently the Brain Injury Association of America), the Brain Injury Association of Virginia, the International Brain injury Association, and the American Society of Neurorehabilitation, among other organizations. He along with a colleague were responsible for encouraging the National Head Injury Foundation to change its name to the Brain Injury Association of America and was also instrumental in the merger of the International Association for the Study of Traumatic Brain Injury with the International Brain Injury Association. He served nearly a decade as chairperson of the International Brain Injury Association bringing it from the verge of extinction to a thriving international organization. He also has a historical record of pro bono service to numerous agencies and has served on numerous advisory boards, scientific and otherwise. He has contributed substantively to his field in so many different ways over his 30 year career relative to disability advocacy, lay and professional education (nationally and internationally), support for survivors of ABI and their families, as well as research and dissemination. This multiple board certified forensic psychiatrist has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages, predominantly specializing in Addictions, PTSD and Sleep Medicine. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has held top teaching and clinical positions at Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine. Currently, he is the President of a psychiatric private practice association in Virginia, and a Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology at a university medical center in Richmond, Virginia.

This highly qualified and board certified expert received his M.S and PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tulsa. He completed his clinical internship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, followed by a neuropsychology specialty fellowship at the Memphis VA Medical Center. This expert is is board-certified in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology. He completed his internship training at Ain Shams University Hospital and his residency training in pediatrics in Philadelphia, and his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Columbia University. He is a member of various professional associations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Association for Research. He has published 100+ peer-reviewed journal articles with a focus area on birth asphyxia and ventilation. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, as well as an editorial board member for the Journal of Clinical Neonatology. He lectures both nationally and internationally and was honored with the District of Columbia Hospitals Association's "Patient Safety Award" in 2002. Currently, he is the chairman of newborn services at a top-ranked medical center/ university. He also founded and directed the Neonatal Neurology and Brain Development Fellowship Program. This expert earned his BA in Chemistry from Washington University and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. After receiving his PhD, he earned his MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The expert completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Saint Louis Children's Hospital in association with the Washington University School of Medicine, and he went on to complete several prestigious fellowships. She is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and the NIH stroke scale. She stays current in her field as a member of the Neurocritical Care Society, author of two peer reviewed journal articles, and as a coordinator for numerous governmental and non-governmental sponsored studies and trials. This expert formerly served as a staff nurse, acting charge nurse, and wound care nurse at Barnes Jewish Hospital. She currently is a research nurse coordinator for the division of neurocritical care in the department of neurology at a top US medical school.

This qualified expert received his BS in biology from Saint Xavier University before earning his MSN from Depaul University. He holds several certifications, including advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, trauma nursing, crisis prevention. He is a licensed EMT-paramedic and certified as an emergency communication registered nurse. He has formerly served as an adjunct clinical teacher of nursing at Saint Xavier University, a first aid RN for Windy City EMS, an emergency room RN and technician for Advocated Health System, and an emergency room RN for Palos Community Hospital and Presence Mercy Hospital. Currently, this expert serves as an emergency room RN for a community hospital in Illinois, as well as an adjunct clinical teacher of nursing at both a community college and a university.

Abel award in pharmacology. He is the former co-director of the Synthesis Facility at the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology and the former senior organic chemist at Eli Lilly & Co. Currently, he is a professor of pharmacology and chemistry at a major university, where he is also the director of medicinal chemistry and DMPK at the Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery. Additionally, he is the director of drug discovery at a major science institute in Tennessee.
