This highly qualified, triple board certified doctor completed his medical school at the American University of Beirut (AUB). He subsequently joined the internal medicine residency program at Wayne State University. After completion of the residency, he joined the hematology oncology fellowship program at the Karmanos Cancer Institute, also at Wayne State University. He then joined faculty as an Assistant Professor in the area of GI oncology. During this time, he was involved in translational research focused on pancreatic cancer. Immediately following his time at Wayne state, this doctor moved to his current position at a GA university as the director of the GI Oncology program . He is designated as a Distinguished Cancer Scholar by the Georgia Cancer Coalition. He is also currently the medical director of the Clinical Trials Office, where his mission relies on translational projects related to gastrointestinal malignancies, specifically pancreatic and colorectal cancer, to bring observations derived from invitro models of cancer cell growth to the clinic. He has over 150 peer reviewed publications, and is the lead clinical investigator on at least eight trials focused on the evaluation of novel treatments in patients with early stage or advanced cancer.
