After a recent transition to an independent faculty position, his laboratory continues to investigate virus-host interactions that regulates disease outcome and pathogenesis of HCV infection. He has extensive expertise and skills in virology, cell signaling, cytokine biology, and cell biology. His role as a physician specializing in the care of viral hepatitis at an academic medical center offers the unique integration of basic science and clinical/translational science into the laboratory research program.

This highly qualified board certified expert has been in clinical practice for more than 20 years. Residency ad fellowship training were completed at Loma Linda University Medical Center and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, respectively. He is actively involved in research and education: the expert serves on countless medical and surgical committees dedicated to the improvement of health care outcomes and physician education, is a reviewer and editor for many prestigious transplant journals, and has been awarded in recognition for his contributions to the specialty. The expert has authored over 250 original peer reviewed articles and abstracts and has lectured at over 150 conferences and symposia. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center before completing two fellowships: one in hepatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center and one in gastroenterology at State University Hospital at Stony Brook. This expert is board-certified in internal medicine with a subspecialty in gastroenterology. She is active in her field as a member of both the International and American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, as well as the American Gastroenterological Association. She is highly involved in hepatology research and is a leading researcher in the realm of liver disease, having authored numerous publications on the topic. She has formerly served as the director of hepatology and clinical professor of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, global head of hepatology for Kadmon Pharmaceuticals, and global development lead of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis for Shire Pharmaceuticals. Currently, this expert serves as the CEO of a liver disease consulting company, as well as the head of liver disease development clinical sciences for a pharmaceutical company based in New York.
