Forensic Toxicology Expert Witnesses in Idaho

This highly qualified toxicologist earned his PhD in Toxicology at Oregon State University, as well as a BS at the University of Texas and MS in Applied Environmental Sciences at the University of North Texas. He has served on several expert panels with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National Academies of Science and other scientific agencies and government organizations. He has a strong expertise in risk assessment and the toxicology of pesticides and metals. Formerly, this expert served as a Public health Toxicologist for Oregon State Public Health. Currently, he is a tenured Associate Professor and Director of an Environmental Health Center at a major research-based university where he focuses on human health concerns related to chemical exposure and approaches to risk assessment.

This highly qualified expert is a nationally renown authority in toxicology. He received his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Kansas Medical Center. He has served as Toxicology Program Director in the Department of Environmental Health at the University of Washington, then as Associate Chairman of the Department, as Associate Dean for Research in the School of Public Health, and Associate Vice Provost for Research. He is currently Dean and Vice Provost of the Graduate School at the University of Washington. This expert continues his academic appointment as Professor Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, and Public Health Genetics. He has served as the founding director of the Center for Ecogenetics & Environmental Health, an NIEHS Core Center of Excellence. Nationally, he has served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the American Board of Toxicology, and as President of the Society of Toxicology. He has also served on the Board of Environmental Studies and Toxicology, National Academy of Sciences /National Resource Council, as a member of the Board of Directors and Vice-President of the Toxicology Education Foundation, and on the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences. He is an Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Academy of Toxicological Sciences. This expert was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, and to the Washington State Academy of Sciences. He has published over 150 scientific articles and book chapters in the field of toxicology and risk assessment. He is the sole author of a widely used Law Review article titled on scientific judgment and toxic torts.

This expert is board certified in Medical Toxicology, Addiction Medicine, and Preventive Medicine. He has over 15 years of experience in academia, conducting research, teaching, and publishing peer-reviewed articles in occupational and environmental toxicology. His clinical practice is specialized in addiction medicine, and he provides patient care in Oregon. This expert has provided consulting and expert witness services for over 15 years, in a diverse range of toxicology-related matters. Areas of specific expertise include addiction medicine, postmortem toxicology, overdose and adverse effects from drugs of abuse (alcohol, opioids, opiates, stimulants, benzodiazepines), and health effects from human exposure to mold, mycotoxins, pesticides, metals, irritant gases and carbon monoxide.

This recognized expert in medical toxicology earned his medical doctorate in New York state, thereafter completing a residency in internal medicine at the University of California - Davis. He is board certified in both medical toxicology and emergency medicine and has been widely published in his field. He currently divides his time between serving as a full professor of toxicology at one of the West Coast's best schools of medicine and as the medical director of a regional poison control system.
