He is also a national leader in the field of Occupational Lung Disease within professional organizations like the American Thoracic Society and American College of Chest Physicians and on the advisory board of the sixth edition of the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. He is on the teaching faculty at the respected university in New Mexico, for the Pulmonary and Critical care fellowship programs, as well as the Preventive Medicine and Internal Medicine residency program
