Breast Cancer Expert Witnesses in New Mexico

This expert is trained and board certified in radiation oncology. Currently a professor at a major medical center, he continues to treat patients and conduct research projects. He also serves as a reviewer for the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. His clinical interests include pediatric cancers, breast cancer and sarcoma.

Al Barqawi, MD, FRCS, is an Associate clinical Professor and Lecturer in the Division of Urology at University of Colorado School of medicine. Dr. Barqawi also serves as Director of Research in the Section of Urologic Oncology. He has expertise in urologic oncology and general Urology primarily in prostate disease, early detection, novel imaging and treatment applications and epidemiology. He is interested in men’s health research, particularly sexual function and testosterone effect on general health. He also acts as the Principal Investigator for several national research projects. He pioneered 3D imaging of the prostate gland and focal targeted therapy for prostate cancer. He performed the first focal interstitial laser therapy of the prostate in the US. He also initiated the first phase I study for intra-prostatic injection of Botox for the treatment of BPH. He published more than 100 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He presented at many national and international meetings. He is also an elected member of the Editorial Board for several national and international medical journals. He serves regularly on the scientific committees for National science foundation and department of defense grant meetings.

This highly qualified expert earned his MD from the University of Pretoria and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Pretoria Academic Hospital and Kalafong Hospital. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Orthopedic Oncology at the University of Florida and a fellowship in Tumor Surgery and Tissue Banking at Cornell University. He is Board Equivalent Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. This expert has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and has Co-authored 12 books and manuscripts. He is a reviewer for several national and international journals such as, The Orthopedic Review Journal, the Journal of Bone Surgery ,Current Oncology, and the SA Orthopedic Journal. This expert currently serves as Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Unit at a major university affiliated medical center.

She is currently the Regional Chapter President of the Oncology Nursing Society. She has previously served as the Unit Coordinator at the University of Kansas Hospital - Westwood Campus Cancer Center, Nurse Coordinator at the University of Arizona Cancer Center, Oncology Clinic RN Coordinator at the VA Healthcare System in Arizona and Currently, she serves as an Infusion nurse with CVS Pharmacy in Arizona.

This highly qualified expert has over 15 years of oncology nursing experience. She earned her BSN and MSN from Columbia University prior to receiving her DNP from the University of Texas, Austin. She is a licensed registered nurse and licensed advanced practice registered nurse, as well as a certified adult nurse practitioner, certified advanced oncology nurse practitioner, and certified breast care nurse. She is a member of several professional societies including the American Nursing Association and the Oncology Nursing Society. She has formerly served as an oncology nurse at Columbia University Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center and as an adult oncology nurse practitioner at NYU Langone Clinical Cancer Center. She is currently a certified adult nurse practitioner and an advanced oncology certified nurse at a prominent outpatient cancer center in Texas.

This qualified expert graduated from Dartmouth College with his AB in neurobiology before earning his MD from New York University. He subsequently completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Colorado and a pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in pediatrics with a sub-specialization in pediatric hematology-oncology. As a pediatrician and pediatric oncologist, this expert specializes in the treatment and management of pediatric brain tumors and other cancers. He is active in his field as a member of the Children's Oncology Group and as an author of several scientific articles. He has formerly served as a pediatrician focused on neuro-oncology at Boston Children's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
