    This highly-qualified expert has over 35 years of experience in aviation, as well as a practicing attorney. In addition to being a licensed attorney, he has a private pilot's license and a commercial pilot's license. He earned his BAS in biomedical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and his JD from Pennsylvania State University. He has worked for several law firms throughout his career and, during his time with the DOJ as both an assistant United States attorney and a special assistant United States attorney, this expert worked on numerous aviation-related prosecutions involving airlines and the FAA. He has about 5,000 hours of experience in all types of weather and is familiar with the practices, procedures, operations, issues, and challenges facing pilots. For the last 27 years, he has owned, maintained, and operated systems-based cabin-class piston and turbo-prop aircraft, including a 1977 Piper Turbo Arrow III (PA-28-201RT), a 1969 Beechcraft (Raytheon) Duke (BE60), and, most recently, a 1979 Piper Cheyenne I (PAY1). Currently, this expert is the managing partner of the Philadelphia office for a law firm in Pennsylvania.
