The Expert Institute’s Third Annual Best Legal Blog Contest has drawn to a conclusion, with more than fifty thousand votes cast for blogs in each of the contest’s nine categories.

The contest’s three grand prize winners, as well as the winners in each individual category, beat out more than 600 legal blogs for the right to call themselves one of the best legal blogs online today.

The contest’s three grand prize winners – blogs that received the most votes overall – are:

1st Place – Workplace Privacy, Data Management & Security Report by Jackson Lewis P.C.

2nd Place – The Better Chancery Practice Blog by Judge Larry Primeaux

3rd Place – The Biederman Blog by Southwestern Law School

In addition to the competition’s three grand prize winners, 24 other blogs won honors within their respective categories, which ranged from Legal Tech to Criminal Law and represented the full spectrum of legal blog topics.

Each of these blogs has earned a permanent place in The Expert Institute’s Best Legal Blogs Hall of Fame, which can be found here.

In a departure from previous years, we will now be accepting nominations for the 2018 iteration of the competition throughout the year via the nomination form at the bottom of the main contest page. By accepting nominations for the competition throughout the year, we hope to make participation in the competition larger and more inclusive than ever.

The 2018 iteration of the contest will begin in fall of next year.

Engagement with the competition has increased rapidly since the contest began in 2015, and each blog in this year’s competition earned an average of 87 votes each.
