Questions to the Human Resources expert and their responses
Please describe your experience in human resources, specifically as it relates to evaluating, vetting, and hiring employees.
I have over 25 years of experience in the field of human resources and have previously served as both vice president of human resources and also the director of human resources for two separate businesses. Additionally, I have worked in human resources in both the transportation and distribution fields.
Briefly, what industry standards or best practices exist to ensure that a potential employee responsible for driving a truck is properly vetted regarding any previous licensing violations?
There are best practices that exist to ensure an employee driving a truck is properly vetted. One of such practices is that anyone hired to drive a motor vehicle has their background checked at the time of their hire and at reasonable intervals thereafter. I would be happy to assist here.
