Case Overview

This case involved an adult female patient who previously underwent a silicone breast implant procedure. She required revision surgery for her implants. The initial plan was for two hours under anesthesia.

However, on the day of the operation, the anesthesiologists reduced the time to one hour. Allegedly, this change prompted the surgeon to modify their surgical technique to accommodate the shorter timeframe. The plaintiff alleges that this resulted in rushed surgery and subsequent complications.

Post-surgery, the patient developed several issues including rashes, an irregular breast contour, and dissatisfaction with the size and shape of her breasts. Additionally, her scarring was reportedly more severe than anticipated. She also experienced autoimmune complications following the procedure.

A plastic surgeon’s expert opinion is sought to determine liability and causation in this case.
