Orthopedic Surgery Patient Injured During Transfer from Operating Table to Gurney

This OR operations case takes place in South Dakota and involves a male patient who underwent ankle surgery. It is believed that during the transfer from the operating table to the gurney there was some sort of incident which resulted in the patient suffering a shoulder injury.

inline imageThe operating room staff is responsible for the care of the patient under anesthesia. The incident, as described, should never happen under any circumstances. That said, I am happy to review the medical records and perform an IME of this patient to draw a conclusion on the cause and extent of the patient's shoulder injury.
