She earned her BA in Spanish and BS in biology at the Xavier University of Louisiana and then obtained her MD from Emory University. She completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the Orlando Regional Medical Center. This expert then completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Northside Hospital.
