Dr. Daisuke Minakata is a civil and environmental engineer with a research focus on water and wastewater treatment technologies. He earned his BS and MS in environmental engineering from Kyoto University in Japan and subsequently earned his PhD in environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is active in his field as a member of several professional organizations, including the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation, and the American Chemical Society. He is also active in academia as the author of over 40 peer-reviewed articles and 6 book chapters. He has been the receipt of over $4 million in grant funding and has lectured widely on topics in his field. Formerly, he served as a research engineer at the Brook Byers Institute for Sustainable System at the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as an assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at Michigan Technological University. This expert is currently an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at a university in Michigan.
