Dr. Alex Haynes, MD has over 10 years of experience in surgical oncology, specializing in the surgical management of melanomas and sarcomas. He earned his BS in cell and molecular biology from Tulane University, his MPH from Columbia University, and his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and his fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Today, this expert is board certified in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology. He stays active in his field, having published more than 35 peer-reviewed articles, and is a distinguished member of numerous professional societies, such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He formerly was a clinical specialist in surgical oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, an attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, and an associate professor of surgery at Harvard School of Medicine. Currently, he serves as an associate professor of surgery and oncology at a medical school in Texas, as well as an attending surgeon and medical director of surgical oncology at its affiliated medical center.
