He has completed post graduate training in General Surgery at MUSC. He also obtained additional training in Surgical Critical Care and completed fellowship training in Pediatric Surgery at the prestigious Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Surgeons, American Pediatric Surgical Association, and numerous other professional organizations.
