Expert Qualifications
This mental health expert is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and the Associate Director of a forensic psychiatry fellowship program for a large public university in Colorado. Much of his work has focused on the mental health of prison inmates, with a particular emphasis on the effects of solitary confinement. The expert earned his M.D. from the University of Maryland Medical School and completed his psychiatric internship/residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is licensed in the states of Colorado, California, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. He has also co-authored a book and nearly 30 book chapters. Among notable consulting engagements, the expert was selected to perform the independent psychiatric exam in a high-profile mass shooting trial. He is a member of the American Correctional Health Services Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
