She earned her BS in nursing at Pan American University, her MS in public health nursing at the University of Texas Brownsville, and her EdD with a focus in health science education at the University of Houston. She has held numerous positions in various facilities across Texas with a consistent focus on surgical nursing and nurse education. She recently transitioned from clinical work to a consulting role. In her current position as a nurse consultant, she consults and presents on topics related to surgery recovery and pain management for patients following surgery.

This highly-qualified expert has over 25 years of experience in operating room nursing. She received her BSN in registered nursing from Texas Woman's University before earning her MSN in nursing education from Aspen University. She is a certified operating room nurse and formerly served as a guest lecturer in operating room nursing at the University of Houston Victoria. For nearly 30 years, this expert has served as an operating room registered nurse and unit educator at a hospital in Texas.
