Physical Therapy Expert Witnesses in Iowa

This expert has been the Chief of Pediatrics at the Chicago Shriners Hospitals for Children since 1981, the Medical Director of the Spinal Cord Injury program since its inception in 1983, and in 2005 became the Assistant Chief of Staff, Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and an MD from University of Illinois. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the Subspecialty of Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. He is the immediate Past-President of the American Spinal Injury Association and Past-Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Consortium for Spinal Cord Medicine, as well as Past President of the Chicago Pediatric Society and the American Paraplegia Society. He is a Certified Life Care Planner. This expert has authored over 135 peer-reviewed journal articles, nearly 22 book chapters, and 356 presentations or posters and 20 instructional courses at national and international meetings. This expert attended Auburn University to complete his BS in Rehabilitation Services, his MS in Rehabilitation Counseling, and his PhD in Rehabilitation Services. He is a ABC certified Prosthetist and Orthotist, and a certified Rehabilitation Counselor. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, past board member Commission on Rehabilitation Education, and the National Council on Rehabilitation Education. At Alabama State University, this expert was an Program Coordinator, Assistant and Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Services, as well as the Program Director and Chair of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Masters Program. He developed the first masters program in prosthetics and orthotics at a Historical Black College and University. He is currently an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at a prominent medical university in the mid-west.

This highly qualified expert has extensive experience in the field of physical therapy, specializing in the treatment of acute and chronic back, neck and extremity pain and dysfunction, as well as headaches and whiplash. He received his BS in kinesiology from Southern Illinois University before earning his DPT from Franklin Pierce University. He subsequently completed a fellowship in orthopedic manual physical therapy at the University of Illinois Chicago. He active participates in continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest practices in his field. He is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist and is certified in dry needling and mechanical diagnosis and therapy. He is licensed as a physical therapist in the state of Illinois. This expert is active in his field as a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and the American Physical Therapy Association. He has formerly served as a physical therapist assistant for the hospital-based outpatient unit at Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital, a physical therapist at Achieve Orthopedic Rehab Institute, and an outpatient physical therapist at Athletico. Currently, this expert is a physical therapist and the clinic manager at a physical therapy clinic in Illinois.
