Throughout his career he has been a member of several professional societies including the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO). He served as Director of NIRSA in two different states (New York and Pennsylvania). He is a certified recreational sports specialist and graduated from the NIRSA School of Recreational Sport Management. He has been invited to give professional presentations throughout the country on various topics such as, “Ethics in campus recreation programs,†and “Status of campus recreation programs in North America." He has published extensively in professional publications including Recreational Sports Journal, the Journal of International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, and Dance and Risk Management for Campus Recreation. Most notably, he published articles on Selected risk management policies for intramural activities and club sport legal liability practices. He received the NIRSA Horace Moody Award which recognizes professional members who have made contributions to student development by their encouragement, support, and performance. He is currently an instructor in the department of human movement, sport, and leisure studies of an Ohio based university.
