Parks and Recreation Expert Witnesses

This expert currently serves as Professor / Chair of Health & Physical Education at a SUNY institution. Prior to this role he was the Fitness & Aquatics Director and Head Men's Lacrosse at SUNY. This expert is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) by the National Recreation and Park Association. He is a voting and attending member of the Sports Equipment, Playing Surfaces, and Facilities committee with American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM). He specializes in Risk Management Programs for various types of sports, recreation and fitness activities as well as the preparation of expert opinions for both plaintiff and defendants, in conjunction with recreation and sport personal injury cases.

This internationally recognized authority on sporting surfaces was hired by four US Presidents to create synthetic grass golf, tennis, and track facilities at the White House. His niche consulting firm has been in operation since 1975, allowing him to manage the application of artificial turf technology to collegiate and professional facilities. He was appointed as an official NFL field tester for all 31 stadiums in the league, and is a recognized FIFA field tester. Over the course of his career, he has designed or constructed over 900 tracks, 5,000 tennis courts, and 350 football fields.

A certified leisure professional and playground safety inspector, this expert is also a nationally acknowledged expert in the area of playground safety. She has made presentations both nationally and internationally on playground design and safety, and is the author /co author of over 150 articles on playgrounds and children’s play. This expert has held numerous leadership and committee assignments in national professional organizations, including the American Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and the National Recreation and Park Association.
