He earned his BS in Medieval Studies from the University of Notre Dame and went on to complete an MS in Clinical Research at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his MD at the St. Louis University School of Medicine and went on to complete a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Naval Medical Center in San Diego. He remains active in his field as a member of numerous medical societies including the American Gynecological and Obstetric Society, Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Additionally, he has published extensively in his field with over 75 articles in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Maternal-Fetal Neonatal Medicine, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Child Health Journal, and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Previously, he has served as a Staff OBGYN at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune and as the Assistant Residency Program Director at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Currently, he holds a number of clinical and academic positions including serving as a Staff OBGYN at several regional hospitals in Indiana, a Faculty Physician, Tenured Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinical and Resident Research at a major medical university in Indiana.
