This well-credentialed expert has extensive experience in physical education and outdoor recreation management. He received his M.A. degree in Physical Education and Recreation Management from Appalachian State University and his Ph.D. in Leisure Studies and Services from the University of Oregon. He is a member of various professional associations, including the Association of Experiential Education and the Society of Park and Recreation Educators. He has published 20+ peer-reviewed journal articles and serves as an editor for both Leisure Today and the Journal of Outdoor Recreation, Education and Leadership. He lectures both nationally and internationally and received North Carolina State University's "Continued Excellence In Teaching Award" twice. He is a former instructor of wilderness skills at the Appalachian School of Experience and a former associate professor of physical education and recreation management at North Carolina State University. She hold various professional certifications including basic life support, pediatric advanced life support, and NCC High-Risk Neonatal Nursing. Formerly, she has held roles as a per-diem RN at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and a NICU per-diem RN at the Medical Center of Tarzana. Additionally, this expert has previously served as a charge RN at West Hill Hospital and Medical Center and a nursing educator at the Professional Medical Careers Institute of California. Currently, she is a full-time faculty member at a NC nursing school.
