Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Expert Witnesses in Pennsylvania

This expert is an independent safety consultant out of the UK. For the past 27 years, he has worked in a variety of engineering environments to ensure that UK/EU safety standards were upheld. He is familiar with the UK factory safety standards and product safe design standards and has the appropriate experience to help with this case. He has worked large engineering companies to ensure their compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, CE Marking Directives and PUWER.

This expert has been practicing for over 30 years. She received her Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley and completed a fellowship in Epidemiology there as well. She has published over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and sits on the Editorial Board of "Pediatric and Perinatal Research", the "American Journal of Public Health", "Pediatrics", "Annals of Internal Medicine", and "Autism Research". She is a member of the Scientific Review Committee for the National Institutes of Neurological Diseases and Stroke, the American Public Health Association, and the Society for Epidemiological Research, and is the recipient of awards such as TIME Magazine's Top Ten Parenting Finding of 2011. Currently, this expert is a Professor of Nursing at a major medical university, where she serves as the Chair of the Department of Biobehavioral Health Sciences, and Director of the Masters of Public Health Program as well. She is also the Director of a major center for autism and developmental disabilities research and epidemiology, which is one of six such centers funded by the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

She received her Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration in Women's Health and thereafter examined reproductive morbidity as an NIH National Research Service Award Individual Postdoctoral Fellow. This expert is extensively published and has served as a reviewer for numerous medical journals, including "Obstetrics & Gynecology International", "Womens Health", and "Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology". She has served as the Principal or Co-Principal Investigator on a multitude of research endeavors, garnering hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants from the National Institute of Health, the Center for Disease Control, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Currently, she is an Associate Professor of Reproductive Epidemiology with Tenure at a major medical university, where she is also the Director of Reproductive, Perinatal and Pediatric Epidemiology.

This expert has experience in Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) operations specializing in developing and revitalizing EHS cultures to meet regulatory, organizational, and employee needs for significant EHS improvements. He is a certified OSHA Technical Institute (OTI) Trainer for General Industry and Construction, and an Adjunct Instructor, Graduate Studies, Public Safety Management at a University in Philadelphia. His specific trainings include: machine guarding, Chemical Safety assessment, HAZMAT, biosafety, and EHS compliance.

This expert specializes in infection control. He earned his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and pursued a fellowship focused on diagnostic imaging at the Temple University School of Medicine. For two decades, he worked for a firm manufacturing automated endoscope reprocessors, serving as the Director of R&D and the Chief of Infection Control. He currently owns a consultancy focused on healthcare quality and safety; he is also a prolific writer on these issues.
