The case involves a 3 year old child who fell 30 feet off of a balcony that had no railings, and suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of the fall. She was flown to a hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana via air ambulance, where she was stabilized and released after about 3 months. The child is now four years old. I have been a board certified pediatric neurologist for 20 years with academic position of Associate Professor of Neurology at LSUHSC in New Orleans and Children's Hospital. I have written a book chapter on pediatric traumatic brain injury in Cohn's Current Therapy and an article on Shaken Baby Syndrome published in Seminars in Pediatric Neurology. I have given expert opinion for medical legal cases involving pediatric TBI on a couple of occasions.

About the expert

He completed his internship, residency and fellowship trainings focusing on pediatrics and pediatric neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. He is a neurology specialty fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of various other professional associations, including the American Academy of Neurology and the Child Neurology Society. He is a former clinical assistant professor of neurology at Louisiana State University and a former attending child neurologist at University and Charity Hospitals. Currently, he works as a child neurologist at a major children's hospital and as a clinical associate professor of neurology at a major medical school.
