Our 10-week summer internship program is designed to give you an immersive experience, where you’ll gain hands-on real world experience and will be welcomed by all of our team here at Expert Institute. During this internship candidates will receive role specific training, interact with members of our Executive team, and work on meaningful projects in the legal tech industry. Each intern will meet with department heads and company leaders to discuss business development skills ranging from professional business writing to best search strategies, and will receive performance feedback from their manager throughout the summer!
About the Role
ExpertIQ is our proprietary software that was built inhouse to serve as a client and expert portal, allowing experts to review potential case assignments and our attorney clients to input any new expert witness search requests. Data Central is our recently launched Content Collection and curation tool that enables our products and legal clients to interact with experts within our network. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience building out these products from the ground level and will assist with reviewing case law and evaluating online civil case dockets.
Our Legal Analyst Intern will have the opportunity to:
Perform legal research to summarize facts based on records, and pleadings across various databases such as WestLaw, Docketalarm, and Bloomberg Law
Review case law and evaluate online civil case dockets to pull relevant documentation
Participate in weekly meetings with our onshore and offshore teams
Assist with data ingestion between ExpertIQ and Data Central
Communicate cross-departmentally with our Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams
Set up current awareness and docket alerts
Gain a better understanding of legal processes and how to read direct and indirect challenges of expert opinions in litigation
Work on high impact administrative ad-hoc projects as needed
Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a B.A. or B.S. in Pre-Law, History, Business, Government, Communications or related field
Demonstrate excellent multitasking skills while being able to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Ability to work well in a team environment
Must have close attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed
Creative analytical and problem solving skills is a must
