About Dr. Thomas Martin Hemmen, FAHA, MBA, MD, PhD

Dr. Thomas M. Hemmen has over 18 years of experience in the field of Vascular Neurology. He earned his MD and Ph.D. from the Freie Universität Berlin and his MBA from the University of California San Diego years later. After completing a residency in Neurology at the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in Stroke Neurology at the San Diego VA Medical Center and a second fellowship in Neurological Intensive Care at the Philipps-Universität Marburg Fachbereich Medizin in Germany. Today, this expert is board-certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology. Formerly, he served as the Director of the Vascular Neurology Residency Program at the UC San Diego Medical Center and as an Associate Professor of Neurosciences at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He currently serves as a Physician and as the Director of the Stroke Center at the UC San Diego Medical Center. He is also a Professor of Neurosciences at the UC School of Medicine and the Chief Medical Officer of TraXel, Inc.
