Dr. Stuart Knechtle, MD

Dr. Stuart J. Knechtle has specialized experience in the fields of Transplant Surgery and General Surgery. They earned their BA in Biochemistry from Princeton University and their MD from the Cornell University School of Medicine. After completing their residency in Surgery at Duke University Medical Center, they went on to complete a fellowship in Transplantation at the University of Wisconsin Hospital. Today, the expert holds a certification in Surgery. Previously, they held roles as a Director of Transplant Clinical Trials, the Director of Kidney Transplantation, and the Director of Liver Transplantation at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Currently, they work as a Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Surgeon at Duke Cancer Center Gastrointestinal Clinic and William R. Kenan, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine.
