Dr. Shuntaye Batson, MD, FACS

Dr. Shuntaye D. Batson has specialized experience in the fields of Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. They earned their BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Tennessee, their MS in Population Health Management from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and their MD from Howard University College of Medicine. After completing their residency in General Surgery at Howard University Hospital, they went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. Today, the expert holds certifications in Surgical Critical Care and Surgery. Previously, they held roles as an Assistant Professor of Surgery, an Associate Professor of Surgery, and a Trauma Performance Improvement Director at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Currently, they work as a Professor of Surgery and Associate PI Director at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
