Dr. Robert Dowling, MD

Dr. Robert D. Dowling has 29 years of experience in the field of Surgery. He earned his BS in Chemistry from Allegheny College and his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After completing his residency in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, he went on to complete a Research Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Today, this expert is board-certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery. Formerly, this expert held roles as the Director of Cardiac Surgery Research at Penn State Health and as the Vice Chair of Research at the Heart and Vascular Institute at Penn State Health. Currently, he serves as the Surgical Director of Cardiac Transplantation and as the Chris and Trey Heekin Family Endowed Chair of Cardiac Transplantation at The Christ Hospital.
