Dr. Richard Gurgel, MD, MSCI

Dr. Richard Gurgel, MD, MSCI has extensive experience in both otolaryngology and neurotology. He received his BA in biology and his MD from the University of Utah and completed his residency in otolaryngology at the University of Iowa. He then went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in neurotology at Stanford University. He is active in his field as a member of several professional organizations such as the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Neurotology Society as well as the chair of the Hearing Committee for the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Previously, he served as an assistant professor of otolaryngology at the University of Utah. Currently, he is an associate professor of otolaryngology and an adjunct associate professor of neurosurgery and communication sciences and disorders at a university in Utah. Additionally, he is the assistant residency director, the co-director of the temporal bone course, and the assistant program director of otolaryngology, also at a university in Utah.
