About Dr. Omar Akram Zalatimo, FAANS, MD, MHA, MPH

Dr. Omar A. Zalatimo has 9 years of experience in the field of Neurological Surgery. He earned his BS in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology from Bucknell University, his MD and his MPH from the Penn State University College of Medicine, and his MHA from Penn State Harrisburg. After completing an internship in General Surgery and a Residency in Neurosurgery, he went on to complete a fellowship in Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery, all at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Neurological Surgery through the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Additionally, he is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality through the National Association for Healthcare Quality. Formerly, this expert served as Director of the Advanced Practice Provider in Neuroscience Residency Program for LifeBridge Health and as the Director of the Neurosurgery Rotation within the General Surgery Residency Program at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He was also a Neurosurgeon with Chesapeake Neurosurgery, LLC. He currently serves as the Director of the Functional Neurosurgery Program and Comprehensive Spine Program for LifeBridge Health. He is also the Director of the Spine Rotation within the Orthopedic Residency Program at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and the Director of Clinical Transformation at the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain and Spine Institute.
