About Dr. Nick Feamster

This highly qualified expert in computer science has nearly two decades of experience in his field. He received his BS in electrical engineering and computer science, his MEng in computer science and his PhD in computer science all from MIT. He has won numerous awards such as the IBM Faculty Award, the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, and the ACM SIGCOMM Rising Star Award. His research focuses on networked computer systems, with an emphasis on network architecture and protocol design; network security, management, and measurement; routing; and anti-censorship techniques. He is active in his field as a member of ICEE and USENIX. In the past, he has served as an assistant professor of computer science at Georgia Insitute of Technology where he worked his way up to a full professorship. He then worked as an assistant professor of computer science at Princeton. Currently, he serves as a professor of computer science and the Neubauer Chair of computer science at a highly prestigious university in Illinois.
