About Dr. Michael Christopher Kurz, FACEP, FAHA, MD, MS

Dr. Michael C. Kurz has 20 years of experience in the field of Emergency Medicine. He earned his BA and MS from the University of Virginia Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and his MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. After completing his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Emergency Cardiac Care at VCU Medical Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Associate Professor and as the Director of the Alabama Resuscitation Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. Currently, he serves as a Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine and as a Physician Scientist in the Center for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also works as the Vice-Chair for Research and Director of the Therapeutic Hypothermia Consult Service at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine.
