About Dr. Michael Allen Schweitzer, FACS, FASMBS, MD

Dr. Michael A. Schweitzer has 26 years of experience in the fields of General and Bariatric Surgery. He earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida and his MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Surgery. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Center for Bariatric Surgery and as the Co-Director of the Bariatric Surgery Fellowship Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
