About Dr. Melissa Phillips Black, MD

Dr. Melissa P. Black has 16 years of experience in the fields of Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She earned her BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University and her MD from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo. After completing both an internship and a residency in Family Medicine at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, she went on to complete a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine. Today, this expert is board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Formerly, this expert served as the Director of Long Term Care and as an Assistant Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine. She currently serves as the Medical Director of EldercareMD, as a Physician with Veterans Evaluation Services, Inc., and as Adjunct Faculty in the Outpatient Experience (OPEX) Program at the Emory University School of Medicine. She is also the Owner of Empower Family Medicine, LLC, where she also serves as a Physician and as the Medical Director.
