Dr. Marcelo Guimaraes, MD, MBA

This interventional radiology expert has over 15 years of experience. He received his MD from the Federal University of Rio Grande Sul School of Medicine and completed residencies in general surgery and general and interventional radiology before moving to the US. Once in the states, he completed his fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. While still in Brazil, he was the head of the vascular and interventional radiology unit at the Hospital de Clinicas and UFRGS Medical School. He previously worked as an assistant professor, associate professor, and attending interventional radiologist at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a leader in his field as a well-published, patent-holding researcher and member of both US and Brazilian professional associations. Currently, he is a professor and the director of vascular and interventional radiology at a medical school in SC.
