Dr. Joshua Sonett, MD, FACS

Dr. Joshua R. Sonett has specialized experience in the fields of General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. They earned their BA in Chemistry from Duke University and their MD from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. After completing their residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, they went on to complete a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Today, the expert holds a certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery. Previously, they held roles as a Surgical Director at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and as a Professor of Clinical Surgical Oncology at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Currently, they work as a Chief at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and as the Edwin C. and Anne K. Weiskopf Professor of Clinical Surgical Oncology at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. They are also a Director and an Attending Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
