Dr. Yasser Sakawi, MD

Dr. Yasser Sakawi has over 24 years of experience in the field of Anesthesiology. He earned his MS in Biochemistry from Menofia University Faculty of Medicine and his MBBS from Cairo University, Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al Ainy. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine at The Brooklyn Hospital Center and a residency in Anesthesiology at Albany Medical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. Today, this expert is board-certified in Anesthesiology. Formerly, this expert served as an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, as the Medical Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, and as the Interim Chief of the Medical Staff at the Birmingham VA Medical Center. He currently serves as a Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. He is also the Chief of the Anesthesiology Service at the Birmingham VA Medical Center, where he also serves as an Anesthesiologist.
